HistoryThe Newfoundland Medical Board was established in 1893 as a Statutory Body by the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the Colony of Newfoundland with powers for “the making and enforcing of measures necessary for the regulation and practice of medicine, and the protection and preservation of life and health”. The Medical Act, 2005 continued the Newfoundland Medical Board under the name of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Newfoundland & Labrador. |
